As previously mentioned in the last Echo of Charlo, to celebrate the diversity of our heritage and culture, the municipality of Charlo and Council are presently working on a project of the construction of a Memorial Park, at the east section of the village. This will include a cenotaph for our veterans, a memorial dedicated to the volunteer fire department which will also include the installation of the former St-Paul United Church bell.
Following is a list of men and women who serve and proudly wore the uniform of our country with honour, courage and dedication.
We ask the citizen of Charlo to look at this list and report any addition of names that we could have omitted. We graciously appreciate everyone’s involvement in this project, for this is a community effort to recognize the outstanding contribution for the freedom and liberties, through the courage and sacrifice that our veterans gave all of us, for the dedication and volunteerism of our men and women of our fire department and certainly for the community involvement that help build our past, present and undoubtedly our future, by the installation of the St-Paul United Church bell as a reminder of all of this.
